Technology Transfer: Helping to Make a Better World
The stories are immensely human, from the first spark of wonder and discovery to the final product. Without the tireless work and commitment of academic researchers on campuses across the globe, there would be no products and no stories to tell.
The Better World Project, a series of printed and online resources, shares these stories to promote understanding about the important role academic research and technology transfer play in making our world a better place to live. AUTM invites you to:
About The Better World Project
AUTM launched The Better World Project in 2005 to explain in everyday terms how academic research and technology transfer have changed our way of life and made the world a better place. The project draws from more than a decade's worth of case studies and news from AUTM members the professionals who make academic technology transfer happen.
In 2008, AUTM issued a third report to share the stories behind more than 100 innovations with roots in academic research. These inventions and discoveries have saved lives, improved well-being and contributed to a stronger community. Yet until now, many of the stories had been forgotten or lost in the passage of years, or simply never told.
