The Global Health Initiative

The Global Health Initiative is a set of principles and accompanying tools designed to promote the availability of essential medical care in developing countries. Universities are asked to review the Principles and become signatories to show their commitment to this cause.

The AUTM Global Health Toolkit provides university licensing managers a starting point as they enter into licensing discussions with prospective licensees. The AUTM Global Health Sample Clauses is a living document created by AUTM members to share their experience creating licenses that promote global health access, specifically how to structure license clauses that promote innovation and product development while encouraging access to essential medicines by developing countries.

It is AUTM’s desire that university licensing managers will provide feedback on their experience so that the Global Health Licensing Toolkit evolves into a compendium of successful practices support the the Global Health Principles.
