The United States’ first president, George Washington, signed the first Patent Act in 1790. But that’s not all you need to know about patents. This AUTM Webinar will review the basics, including what patents are, what they do and how they work. We will review patent terms and the general timelines involved in obtaining a patent in the U.S., as well as internationally thru the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and Paris Convention. We will also examine the many different types of patents, such as provisional, utility, continuation, continuation-in-part, divisional, continued prosecution application, file wrapper continuation, trademark, copyright, the PCT system, the European Patent system administered through the European Patent Office (EPO), and other foreign jurisdictions.
AUTM Member $150
Non-Member $190
* The recorded version of this event will be available in early
June 2010 and will offer unlimited, online, on-demand access to an
audio synchronized to PowerPoint recording of the live event for
one-year from the original live recording date of the webinar.
