Fireside Chat with Katharine Ku, Executive Director of the Office of Technology Licensing at Stanford University
AUTM President Elect Mary Albertson will interview Katharine Ku. Through the lens of her more than three decades working in academic research commercialization, Ku will discuss how innovation commercialization has changed during her tenure at Stanford — from basic technology of the biotech industry to the de facto standard for music chips, to the world’s largest search engine (Google) — and her expectations for the future of academic technology transfer. Ku will describe some of Stanford’s greatest successes, the pivotal role of technology transfer on the creation of new products and companies, as well as guidance for the next generation of knowledge transfer leaders.
Monday March 13, 8-10 a.m.
